Гибель двух спелеоподводников, вероятно из-за газа

Печальное известие пришло с юга Франции.

Два опытных спелеоподводника (highly experienced) погибли во время остановки между первым и вторым сифоном в Springs of Meyraguet,( Dept. Lot, Франция)
предположительно из-за ядовитого газа в воздухе.

Ва время отдыха они свободно дышали между сифонами

Воздух между сифонами взят на анализ.
Результаты пока не опубликованы.

Вывод: крайне осторожно относитесь к дыханию в пузырях, не проветриваемых галереях между сифонами.
Тем более при первопрохождениях.

Subject: [francecavediving] Deathly Accident at the Springs of Meyraguet

On Thursday, 20th November 2003, two experienced Swiss cave divers
were evacuated dead from the Springs of Meyraguet, Dept. Lot (South
of France)!

They had been found dead in an air hole, located between siphon 1 and
2. They had used the air hole to rest and to breathe freely.

The authorities reponsible for the investigation suspect that death
may have been caused by a high concentration of poisonous gases that
got mixed with the

air in the hole and as such inhaled by the divers. - Air samples of
the hole have been taken by the authorities and will be analysed in
the next few days by a specialized laboratory.

On behalf of the Gendarmerie concerned, I am to inform you that any
and all diving is prohibited as of at once in the springs of
Meyraguet.

There is serious danger of life!
 
The divers were highly experienced and this tragic event was not due
to unprofessional or careless diving practice.
