Dear Delegates and National Orgnanizations,

With these difficult times, together with the rest of the UIS Bureau, we hope that you and all cavers, speleologists and relatives are doing well, safe and healthy. These are terrible times, we are all facing, but we hope like when we are are in difficulties underground, that patience, endurance and hope will lead us all out of these troubles back to sunshine and happier days.

For those who have lost dear parents, relatives and friends, we offer our sincere condolecences.

Still, we need to keep going...

This email present to you a project that the UIS supported and would like you to share with your fellow speleologists and cavers. Sharing information about caves and karst is important not only to practice caving activities, but also to protect caves and karst features.

So I transfer the message of Peter Matthews to you on the behalf of the KarstLink project organizers (people who have dedicated their time and energy for that) - all information you will find in the below link.

Although the KarstLink project (Linked Data on the Semantic Web for cave and karst data) has already support of many European member countries and the European Federation of Speleology, it is important that it rapidly gains wide international participation among both the caving and karst science communities if its final recommendations are to be properly effective and in order to serves best the caving, scientific, and nature conservation communities.
