Dear UIS Commission Officers,
 
The 18th International Congress of Speleology in France, is rapidly approaching. With this message I am sending you important information and reminders.
 
It is positive, that  some of you are already in contact with ICS organizers , but I would like to remind all of you, that ICS is the most important UIS event, organized once in 4 year and it is a largest meeting for presenting your activities to other colleagues from UIS. 
 
Please, do not hesitate to contact organizers with any kind of your ideas, suggestions, or requests for next ICS and stay in contact with them.
 
The President of Scientific Committee of the 18 ICS is Christophe Gauchon and he is ready to assist you with all important matters, or redirected you to the responsible persons.  His e-mail is christophe.gauchon @ univ-smb.fr
 
 
 
Please, let me also remind you, that you can ask the UIS Bureau for financial support for UIS Commissions for specific projects or needs.  If you need financial assistance for the 2020, please send me your proposals.
 
For commissions we already decided to support them for 2020, please, ask directly UIS Treasurer for transfering approved money.
 
For new proposals, please remember :
 
•       Explain in detail how much money you need, why you need it, how you will use it, and your deadline for 
         receiving it.
•       You may also ask for support for more than one year up to 2021.
•       The money must be used only for actual expenses necessary for the project. This can include paid assistance
          if it is absolutely necessary but not as a reward or payment to volunteers.
•       The money cannot be used for printing and shipping of publications. The UIS Bureau encourages you to 
          publish digitally and to post your publications on the Karst Information Portal ( www.karstportal.org ).
•       If you have expenses for your websites, you are encouraged (not required) to post your websites for free  
         through the UIS website. For more information, contact Efrain Mercado, UIS Vice President of Operations.
 
Please, send me your proposals before April 30 , or if you need UIS support urgently, do not hesitate to contact me as soon as you need.    
 
The next UIS Bureau meeting will be on May 10 and 11 in Slovakia , before the 9th International Workshop on Ice Caves and 12th Scientific Conference RESEARCH, UTILIZATION, AND PROTECTION OF CAVES held in Liptovsky Mikulas from May 12 till May 15.
 
You can also use this opportunity to participate on UIS Bureau meeting.
